About the Beanpot Tournament

The Beanpot Tournament is played each year by four Boston area colleges: Northeastern University, Boston University, Boston College, and Harvard University. It was founded in 1952, and became an annual event in 1954. The Beanpot Masters Tournament is a fund raiser for the Jimmy Fund, and began in 1985 under the leadership of W. Godfrey Wood. The players are Beanpot alumni and each plays for his college again in the Masters' Tournament.
