About the Hanson Family Association, Organized 1911

The Hanson Family Association was organized in Dover, N.H. on Sept. 7, 1911 at a meeting in Central Park, Dover at which the by-laws of the association were adopted and officers elected from the thirty-two descendants of Thomas Hanson present. Thomas Hanson had settled in Dover as early as 1657. The Hon. Frank B. Hanson was elected the first president of the association. Annual reunions were planned and carried out and the association was incorporated in New Hampshire on Oct. 14, 1914.

About the Hanson Family Association Record Books, 1911-1941

The Hanson Family record books contain the by-laws of the association and documentation of annual reunions from its formation in 1911 until 1941. Those members of the association who attended each reunion are listed. The reunions of 1942 and 1943 are recorded as having been cancelled because of the Second World War. The paper embosser is a 10×5″ metal press with the family association name.
