For many fields in the sciences and humanities, working in teams or collaborating in groups of all sizes is rapidly becoming essential to address complex challenges. Forming groups of individuals with diverse backgrounds, perspectives and expertise to work on thorny issues allows for creative thinking and problem solving. However, it also presents challenges. In the second of this two-part workshop, panelists will highlight successes and issues presented by teams/collaborations that involve different types of partners such as international, business/industry, government, community, other institutions and members of differing academic rank. The panelists will also discuss their approaches and practical solutions to promote effectively functioning teams/groups.
