In the letter, Dalgliesh thanks Brackett for her kind words regarding the book The Bears of Hemlock Mountain. She also discusses The Defenders, a book by Nicholas Kalashnikoff, the illustrators Claire and George Louden, and the production of a young people’s edition of Alan Paton’s Cry, the Beloved Country.
