About the Browns
Warren Brown (1836-1919) of Hampton Falls, NH married Sarah Gertrude Norris (1841-1917) in 1867. Their children were Norris Brown (1868-1869), Harry Benson Brown (1870-1903), Arthur Warren Brown (1873-1960), Gertrude Norris Brown (1878-1896), and Mildred Leavitt Brown (1880-1965). The family was active in the social and political life of Hampton Falls for decades. More information can be found here and in printed histories of the town.
About the Collection
This collection consists mainly of diaries kept by Warren and Sarah. Several volumes are also from their sons Arthur Warren Brown and Harry Benson Brown. There are a small number of Warren Brown's business receipts and a box of photographs, including a photograph of Gertrude Norris Brown and some of Harry Benson Brown.
