About C. Floyd Jackson
C. Floyd Jackson joined the university in 1908 as an assistant entomologist and before retiring in 1952 served as assistant professor of zoology and entomology professor, professor of zoology, chairman of the department and dean of the College of Liberal Arts. He continued to do individual research and writing until his death on January 27, 1970. During the 1930s he made numerous collection trips through southern Labrador and the Bay of the St. Lawrence. He traveled without a guide, using his canoe in summer and his sled and dogs, which he raised, in the winter.
About the C. Floyd Jackson Collection Trips Scrapbook
This series contains a scrapbook of photos from various collecting trips, most including his sled dogs, fishing, and nature scenes. It also contains the negatives from most of the photos contained in the scrapbook.
[During 2024 inspection it was found that a number of negatives in Box 3 had completely disintegrated.]
