About John A. Hogan
John Arthur Hogan was born in Idaho in 1909 and educated at the University of Washington and Denver University. He received a Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1952. In 1947 he became Associate Professor of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire; from 1963 to 1974 he was Carter Professor of Economics at the Whittemore School at UNH. He worked as a labor arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. Hogan died in 1981, seven years after his retirement from UNH.

The collection consists of transcripts of arbitration proceedings, fact-finders’ reports, union literature, collective bargaining agreements and other material relevant to Hogan’s cases. The cases span the years from 1949-1975.
