About the UNH Planning Council

In 1992, the university faced a variety of financial problems resulting from a succession of budget rescissions and mandated budget increases due to a significant downturn in the state and regional economy. To address both short-term and long-term budget and planning issues, President Nitzschke expanded the Allocations of Resources Task Force to include the Vice Presidents and Deans. The Academic Senate was also asked to expand their role in the process. The reconstituted Task Force was renamed the UNH Planning Council; to be maintained for as long as deemed helpful and appropriate.
