About Graduate Student Senate
In 2011, the UNH Graduate Student Senate (GSS) was recognized as the official student governance organization representing graduate students. The GSS advocates for Masters and Ph.D. students at UNH and serves as a liaison between the graduate student body and university faculty and administrators. In addition, the GSS advocates for UNH graduate students with New Hampshire and Federal governmental bodies.
For several decades prior to the creation of the GSS and its representative structure, the interests of graduate students at UNH were represented by the Graduate Student Organization (GSO).
