The New Hampshire Soil Conservation Services were initially part of the Extension Service under the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 1994 the national name was changed to the National Resources Conservation Service.
About the NH Soil Conservation Service Photos, ca. 1950-ca. 1970
This collection consists of ca. 400 black and white photographs and negatives documenting the work of the Soil Conservation Services across the state of New Hampshire. The dates are approximately 1950-1970. Each photo has a detailed label, and many have negatives accompanying them. Photographers, dates, and locations are listed on each. The collection covers all ten New Hampshire counties, and is particularly strong on documentation of watersheds, crops, and agriculture.
