He was an instructor in forestry at UNH for two years prior to becoming the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture's blister rust control officer for Carroll County. He worked for the USDA from 1923 to 1959.     The New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts was founded in Hanover, NH in 1866. The college moved to Durham, NH in 1893 and became the University of New Hampshire in 1923. This series contains the minutes for the Executive Committee of the Student Government at the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts. During the years 1922-1924, the Executive Committee dealt mostly with the rules for female students at the school.

    Sylvester Bingham (1901-1981) was a graduate of Dartmouth College, studied at Harvard Law School, earned a master’s degree from Harvard University and the Ph.D. from Yale University.
